About the Strathmore Area

The Strathmore area in North Bethesda is anchored by two performing arts venues: the historic Mansion at Strathmore, an Arts & Crafts–style estate built in 1902, and the Music Center at Strathmore, a 1,976-seat concert hall that opened in 2005. Together they host over 150 performances a year, house education programs for Levine Music and CityDance, and maintain a sculpture garden with 23 works across 11 acres. The Carlton R. Sickles Memorial Sky Bridge connects the campus directly to the Grosvenor-Strathmore Metro station (Red Line). The surrounding area has since developed into a distinctive residential district with several communities offering condos, brownstone townhomes, and new construction — all bordering Rock Creek Park.

Strathmore Park at Grosvenor — 60 luxury condominiums built in 2002 on 13 acres, backing to Rock Creek Park. Units range from roughly 2,200 to 2,600 sq ft. Symphony Park at Strathmore — approximately 112 four-story brownstone townhomes built 2011–2014 by Streetscape Partners on 18 acres adjoining the Music Center grounds. Strathmore View — 125 new homes (108 EYA brownstones + 17 Craftmark single-family homes) on 15.8 acres, with sales underway and first deliveries in early 2026. A Realtor who knows the differences between these communities is essential when buying or selling here.

Strathmore Square, a transit-oriented development adjacent to the Grosvenor-Strathmore Metro station, opened its first 220 rental apartments in October 2024. At full buildout it is planned to include approximately 2,200 units across seven buildings.
